Dr. Prakash Awate is a professor emeritus of IE&OR department at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He holds a doctorate from Cornell University and B Tech from IIT Bombay. He has been active in teaching, research and guiding students for close to fifty years in production planning, scheduling and inventory systems in manufacturing and distribution, queuing systems analysis & control, applications of neural networks, fuzzy systems, knowledge-based systems, genetic algorithms in vehicle routing and scheduling, manufacturing and robotics.
